You can delete your Coast account and its data at any time. There are two ways to do it.
Deletion happens straight away and cannot be undone.
If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, email coastnowapp@gmail.com from the address on your Coast account, with the subject Account deletion request.
We will verify the request comes from the account's registered email and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Deleting your account permanently removes:
| Data | What it is |
|---|---|
| Account & profile | Your name, email address, phone number, self-set gender (if any), and join date |
| Trips | Every trip you posted, including its approximate location |
| Ride requests | Requests you sent and requests you received |
| Ride history & ratings | Your record of shared rides and the ratings on them |
| Reports | Reports you filed about others, and reports others filed about you |
| Blocked users | Your list of people you have blocked |
| Notification token | The device token used to send you push notifications |
From our database, nothing is retained. Every record listed above is removed when your account is deleted. We keep no anonymised copy, no shadow profile, and no backup beyond routine database backups, which are overwritten on a rolling 7-day cycle.
One exception: crash and usage-analytics data already sent to Google Firebase is held by Google under Firebase’s own retention settings. It is not linked to your name, email, or phone number, and is not removed by deleting your Coast account. See the Privacy Policy.
Coast does not process payments and never holds your financial data, so there is nothing of that kind to delete.
If you exchanged phone numbers with another rider through Coast, that number now sits in their phone and their call history. Deleting your Coast account cannot reach it. Contact that person directly if you want them to remove it.
