You pick who you ride with.
Pooled rides put you in a car with whoever an algorithm chose. On Coast you see the people going your way first, with their name, rating and route, and it's your call.

Your location is blurred before we save it.
Coast reads your position only while the app is open. Before a trip is stored, it's moved a random 60 to 180 metres, so even we can't see exactly where you are.
- Foreground only. Coast never tracks you in the background.
- Your number stays private. Riders you match with chat with you in the app, and see your number only if you turn that on.
- Delete your account from the Profile tab and your profile, trips, ratings and history are removed right away.

Match your own gender only
Optional. When it's on, you only see riders of the same gender, and they only see you.
Block and report
On every profile and on the match screen. Repeat reports against the same account suspend it automatically.

Once a request is accepted, sort out the pickup inside Coast without handing out your phone number.
Ratings that are real
Both people rate each other from 1 to 5 after the ride. There's no padded score.

Send who you're riding with, where and when to someone you trust, in one tap.
No money in the app
You settle the fare yourselves, with cash or UPI. Coast doesn't process it and doesn't take a cut.

Is Coast free?
Yes. Installing and using Coast costs nothing, and Coast doesn't process or take a cut of your fare.
Is Coast a taxi service?
No. Coast doesn't employ drivers or dispatch cars. It helps people who are already making a trip find each other and share the cost.
Will I find someone going my way?
Coast works anywhere in India, but it can only match you with riders who are on it. It gets better with every person on your route, so bring a friend or a coworker who makes the same trip.
Who can use it?
Coast is for people aged 18 and over. Read the terms of service for the full rules.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Coast is on Android for now.
How do I delete my account?
Open the Profile tab in the app and delete your account there. Your profile, trips, ratings and history are removed right away. You can also follow the steps on the delete account page.
